Over the past three decades, John Battelle has convened dozens of industry-leading executive events centered on the intersection of technology, business, and culture, including the Internet Summit (with Mary Meeker and Bill Gurley), Foursquare (with Steven Rattner), Signal (with Marc Pritchard) and the Web 2 Summit (with Tim O’Reilly).
As co-founder and CEO of NewCo, John Battelle continues his life’s work finding patterns in the massive narrative that is the intersection of business, technology, and culture. John is an entrepreneur, author and journalist. Best known for his work creating media properties, Battelle helped launch Wired in the 1990s and launched The Industry Standard an integrated weekly magazine, research, online, and conference business that set records for advertising pages sold in a single year during the dot-com boom.
In 2005, he founded the online advertising network Federated Media Publishing. John’s 2005 book, The Search: How Google and Its Rivals Rewrote the Rules of Business and Transformed Our Culture, described the history and impact of search engines and the late emergence of Google from a field of competitors.
